Will the treatment change the surface appearance?

As this process is not a coating or abrasive process it creates no discernible change in the appearance to most surfaces it’s applied to.

There will be no ugly coating to peel off over time.

This means that the investment you’ve made in your floors is protected.

We will always test first to ensure the result is acceptable to you before starting treatment.

Is it easy to clean & maintain?

Yes, treated floors are cleaned as per our recommended cleaning procedure, however there is no special maintenance required.

I have tiled / smooth concrete floors which are slippery when wet. Which product will work on them?

The Grip Guard treatment is suitable for most tiled and smooth concrete surfaces with pedestrian traffic.

It creates microscopic channels that allows the water to be displaced under your feet and will increase the traction of the surface.

We will always test first to ensure the result is acceptable to you before starting treatment.

How long until I can use my floors again?

This will depend on the treatment type. When we complete the Grip Guard Treatment, you will be immediately able to walk on the freshly treated surface, even if still wet.

For the polyurethane non slip coating there is a curing time which depends on the product used and temperature conditions. With polyurethane coatings we usually do the work when your business is closed.

Your Grip Guard representative will advise you about the non slip treatment disruption period before the commencement of the work allowing you can plan for that timeframe.

They will also work with you to ensure that your business will have minimal disruption.

Will the Grip Guard non slip treatment change the appearance of the tiles?

The answer generally is no, but you may notice some reduction in glossiness on some highly glossed tiles as the Grip Guard treatment will alter the surface of the tile when creating the microscopic channels, which reduces the light reflection.

Also depending on the tile you may notice some efflorescence appear as part of the process. (This is quite rare and is caused by the cement content in the tile).

This is only temporary and always will go away with regular cleaning.

We will always test first to ensure the result is acceptable to you before starting treatment.

Will the Grip Guard Treatment damage my tiles?

No, it will not damage the tiles. As a matter of fact this type of treatment is the one that is recommended by the tile industry.

Will the Grip Guard Treatment damage the grout?

No, it will not damage the grout. If the grout is cement based it will clean it, but will not damage it.

When the grout is epoxy based, it will not make any effect at all.

How will it look after treatment?

After your floors have undergone the GRIP GUARD NON SLIP treatment you will notice little or no change in appearance depending on the glossiness of your existing floors.

The floors will also look amazingly clean! This is due to the deep pre-clean we perform to properly prepare the surface for the Grip Guard treatment.

The major difference is the improved slip resistance. Sacrificing some glossiness in order to avoid life changing injuries and expensive litigation is a small price to pay to protect yourself, your family, your staff and your clients.

How long will it last?

The GRIP GUARD NON SLIP treatment is a penetrate, not a coating, it lasts for the life of your floor surface. Good regular cleaning is all that is required to maintain the effectiveness of the treatment.

We can provide you with the right cleaning agent to help you maintain your floors.

Where can it be used?

The product can be used on any slippery hard surface floor and all wet areas such as kitchens, change rooms, bathrooms, showers, external patios, entry foyers, bar areas, around swimming pools, loading docks, ramps and any other areas that are slippery when wet. It is also very effective on enamel baths. Grip Guard  is applied by our master applicators.

What about meeting government / OSH standards for commercial premises?

Our trained specialists can take a testing of the co-efficient of friction with a digital Anti Slip test meter on a random selection of tiles both before and after the area has been treated.

We can supply you with a report showing the improvement to slip resistance that’s been achieved.

For Commercial and Retail clients we can also assist with arranging certification in accordance with Australian standards (AS/NZS 4586:2004) “Slip resistance classification of pedestrian surface materials” through an independent testing organisation.

Independent Testing

Independent tests (by CSIRO) prove GRIP GUARD NON SLIP provides you with an average 50-100% improvement in slip resistance in WET CONDITIONS (which is when most accidents occur).
